Ghent, Belgium;Waffles, Chocolate, and Sights

Monday, February 8, 2016

Once again, Brad got 2 days off this past weekend so we loaded up and headed to Belgium. 3 hours later we arrived in Ghent. Booking.com has been great at finding cheap hotels. NH Gent Belfort is in the perfect location and very spacious. It was smack dab in the center across from town hall with not more than a 10 minute walk to any sights.

Ghent had been on our list to visit since last season and it did not disappoint. It has canals that run through the city and a castle in the middle of the city. Say what?! That is so rare. Everything was beautiful. Our only downside was that on Saturday night everything shut down at 6:30 except the Chinese restaurant. You can never go wrong with Chinese although we were hunting down coffee and waffles for an hour until deciding on room service. We ended our 2 day getaway in Leuven with sweet friends we have met through this crazy lifestyle.  I definitely think we will end up back that way soon!

Here are the few pictures I got of the cute little city Leuven:

Y'all our must see list of Belgium is dwindling, anything we have to see before we leave in May?!
Have a great week! xx
